Triple-check before you submit

  • Your exact passport number
  • The exact spelling of every name as printed on the passport (middle names may be omitted — that's fine with airlines)
  • Your passport expiration date — it must be valid for at least six months after arrival in Sweden, or you won't be able to board in Minneapolis

Renewing? Start now — renewals can take 4–5 weeks. Mid-renewal, list "waiting for number" but provide the exact name spelling so tickets can be issued.

A misspelled name or wrong number means you won't be able to board with the group — this is the single most common last-minute problem on past trips.

For your skater's teachers

School Absence Letter

A printable letter for your skater to give their teachers, explaining the trip dates and inviting teachers to pre-assign homework that can be done while traveling.

If the teacher's interested, it also opens the door for your skater to share a bit of Swedish culture with classmates when they're back. Past teachers have told Steve directly how much they enjoy this.

How much gear do I need to buy?
Most families only need to add a bandy stick, broomball/lacrosse gloves, a roller hockey girdle, walking skate guards, and a neck guard. See Gear & Packing for the full list and where to find each item.
What happens if my passport is close to expiring?
Renew now — passport renewals can take 4–5 weeks, and your passport must be valid at least six months past our arrival date in Sweden or you won't be able to board in Minneapolis. See Passport & travel documents above.
Can coaches bring skates to help at bandy practice?
Yes — skates, gloves, and helmets required; the team provides a stick. A Swedish coach runs the sessions, and parent help with drills and collecting bandy balls is always welcome.
Who do I contact about a specific question?
Check the Crew & Contacts roster — every area of the trip has a named owner, from logistics to homestays to hotel questions.
How do I add trip dates to my own calendar?
On the Itinerary page, use "Subscribe to the full trip calendar" to add every confirmed event at once — it updates automatically as times are finalized — or use the "+ Add to calendar" button on any individual event.
Is this the official USA Bandy site?
